MBA – Agribusines
These programmes involve a very rigorous academic and skill oriented practical knowledge transfer, along with opening a window with agriculture know- how through various courses planned with different agro- ecological situations and regional variation. Major thrust is given to include the course curriculum and syllabus as per IV Deans Committee Recommendation of ICAR. The personality development and professional capabilities courses are also imbibed in the curriculum to make the student well versed in techniques of presenting their knowledge and skill in efficient manner to deal with the concerns of sustainable development of agriculture in all the aspects. Uniqueness India achieved spectacular agricultural growth since 1966, after advent of the Green Revolution. The increase in food grain production from a meager 51 million tonnes in 1950 to about 265.57 million tonnes in 2013-2014 is remarkable achievement unparallel in the history of world agriculture. Similar enhancement in production of milk, fish, oilseeds and fruit & vegetables has also been observed. White, Blue, Yellow and Golden Revolution respectively have been responsible for bringing prosperity in the farming community. The cradle of this success beside government policies and high receptivity of the farming community has been the establishment of institutions of higher agriculture education. These institutions developed new breed of skilled human resources who were instrumental in not only generating new technologies but also in their assessment, refinement and dissemination to the farming community. The School of Agriculture of ITM University Gwalior was started during the year 2013, looking to the ample scope of agricultural development in Madhya Pradesh. Initially undergraduate (B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Ag) Hons.) and Postgraduate (M.Sc. (Ag.) in Agronomy and Horticulture) disciplines were started with total intake of 231 students in B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Ag) Hons. and 27 students in Agronomy and 12 Student in Horticulture. At present the total intake of students in School of Agriculture is 511. This year MBAAgribusines programme is also being offered. Technical competence Acquired School of Agriculture has experienced faculty in the field of Agricultural and Allied sciences. The field of expertise of the faculty is in the Genetic Plant Breeding Soil science, Agronomy Horticulture, Plant Protection etc. The school is trying at her level best to develop the skill oriented sets of teaching, research and extension as per specific need of the students and farming community of the M.P. Since the School of Agriculture is initiated to act at very early stage the development of teaching, research and extension is at embryonic stage. Augmented Opportunities available in the department MOU’S with Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, National Research Central for Agro- forestry, Jhansi and Central Institute of Sub-tropical Horticulture are under process. Resources of the department Experienced Faculty in the field of GPB Soil Science, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Horticulture and other allied sciences are already available with the School of Agriculture. Infrastructural resources School of Agriculture situated at present in Sithouli Campus, however, the building of School of Agriculture is to be constructed at Turari Campus along with basic amenities such as 50 hectare Instructional Farm, Laboratory, facilities for Library, Sport and Recreation for all-round personality development of the students. Research area: Research areas are proposed in the field of Agronomy and Horticulture with special reference to varietal development, package and practices, INM, IPM etc. Training offered For the entrepreneurship development of rural youth, the seed production technology, nursery raising and management of horticulture crops are already proposed. Career Options & Placement opportunities There are tremendous career opportunities in Agricultural survices at national level through Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB). Provincial Agricultural Services (PAS) through State Public Service Commission as District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Soil Conservation Officer (SCO) District Horticulture Officer (DHO), Plant Protection Officer 101 (PPO), Extension Officer and other subordinate services. Besides, there is an ample scope in this field of griculture especially – Fertilizer, Agro-chemical, Biopesticide, Post Harvest Technology, Rural industries and Research & Development and Banking Sectors. There is also an urgent need of agriculture graduate as entrepreneur in village based services such as diagnostic laboratories, Advisors on new innovation, markets and development officer / Asstt. in corporate and contract farming. Shuats: UP Faculty of Agriculture The last half of the twentieth century has transformed our environment, perhaps radically, and brought more changes in our lives and thinking than any corresponding period in history. Frontiers of knowledge are expanding rapidly, making it possible to devise newer and more efficient methods of solving problems of the society. For this purpose of training of mind and mastering of skills and for harnessing science and technology to profitable and productive processes of economic growth and social well-being, the technological education system has been continuously reviewed and adapted to the changing needs of the society. The faculty is committed to academic excellence and maintaining interdisciplinary approaches in its undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research programmes. Academic programmes emphasize basic knowledge as well as its applications, pushing current frontiers of technologies, developing efficient and versatile algorithms and methodologies. Proper synthesis of technology, planning and management in engineering systems is stressed keeping in view varied the impact on the environmental, social and economic conditions Colleges Naini Institute of Agriculture

Naini Agricultural Institute (NAI) The Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences a premier and foremost agricultural institute was established in 1910 in the form of a ‘school of agriculture’ by the American Presbyterian missionaries led by Dr. Sam Higginbottom with a mission to ‘Serve the Land’ and ‘Feed the Hungry’ by imparting training and adoption of scientific technology in production of crops and livestock together through participatory approach under the Scientist, Farmer Interaction Forum. It was the first of its kind in the country and South East Asia. Presently, the Institute is actively involved in teaching, research and extension to impart quality teaching and research-extension modules for the multi-dimensional development of the students and the farming community in and around the Allahabad region.
